Our
Story
K. C. Dat was founded and established in 1963 by Mr Kok Chong Dat,
with the aim to provide quality service in accommodating expatriate
families moving in and out of the country.
In 1969, K. C. Dat was sold to a large trading
company, Harper Gilfillan. The firm operated under this management
for another seven years supporting the industry.
In April 1976, K. C. Dat Singapore was purchased
by International Transport, a consortium of multinational moving
and forwarding firms to maximize its potential.
The company then consisted of forty-four employees, seven leased
vehicles and 4,000 square feet of warehouse space. Eric Lim was
employed during this period, responsible for company sales and operations.
Ten years later in 1986, the company had purchased its own office
and warehouse in its present location. By then, it had been operating
as a highly visible, highly successful moving and freight forwarding
company, and going from strength and strength until today.
We are now a part of the Asian Tigers Group, which comprises of
Asia’s finest and most outstanding move management specialists,
with our K. C. Dat brand name in all the main locations of Greater
China.
Though we have proven to be the industry leader in Singapore and
one of the largest movers in the world, Asian Tigers K.
C. Dat still retains all the charm of a small family business.
In recent years, the benign owners of the company have sold the
majority shares to Eric Lim of the company. The dream is
now realized …………finally.
